I've been pretty busy (and lazy) and I haven't got time to update my blog for a while... A lot of things have been going on... Like PROM, Mother's Day, Graduation .... Okay I'm getting too old to even remember everything! And btw I'm gonna have two suitcases but the one sounds better... :D

But hmm idk where to start :D Well at least a week after Easter (when I wrote last time) Megan and I had a little Ethics competition at Northern Illinois University. And we did pretty well! It was a state wide competition and we had to prepare a powerpoint presentation based on a case. The case was about a student who had an internship and the company wanted him to do something that he considered as unethical... :D And we had to give a solution for him that what he should do and what effects it would have.. :D After all we did pretty well, we got third place :)

Then well prom started to get closer... And I was pretty much freaking out about EVERYTHING! Eventually the night before prom I just wanted to cry and just get done with prom  and I ended up going to bed like at 9.30 pm. VERY unusual for me! But well I got my nails and my eyebrows done before that and then on Saturday morning I just needed to get up and make my way to Megan's house to get ready. But yeah my date caused quite a lot of drama before hand, but eventually everything worked out really well and he was gentleman! So well we got ready at Megan's and took couple pictures there and then we went to Rebecca's house to take more pictures :D And after all the pictures we went to the school and they announced prom queen and king and that kinda stuff and after that we loaded to the "fancy" busses and then they drove us to Chicago to the Museum of Science and Industry :) Andd well then there we had first dinner which was pretty bad and then the dancing part begun :D Okay no comments about american (or mexican dancing) but yeah it's pretty crazy :D After good three hours of dancing we headed back to the busses and to the school. At the school we had post prom which was like super cool! We had like tons of games and like air filled obstacle courses, sumo wrestling and stuff like that! (ookke suomeks helpompi selittää et se ne oli ku pomppulinnoi mut ei semmosiii perinteisii vaa kaikkii erilaisii). When eventually the post prom was over, we had a sleepover at Megan's house. Too bad that we don't have prom in Finland, I'd like to experience it again, because it was super fun!! I just loved it!

And now again I have no idea what else has happened since the prom weekend :DD Hmmm.. I don't mean that I haven't done anything just that I don't remember what I have done. I feel like I've never been this busy! At least then I got to graduate from american high school. The last week of school was only until Wednesday and then on Friday we had senior breakfast, which was that everyone just dressed up nicely and went then we had a breakfast and speeches in a restaurant. And after the breakfast we had graduation rehearsal at the school. 

Then on Sunday, we graduated! It was pretty much just like in movies!! Except for the heat.... It was over +35 degrees celsius on that day! And having the gown on and sitting in the gym among 3000 others wasn't exactly how I imagined graduation, but well it was incredible experience to hear my name called and walk through the stage and get the diploma :) I don't know how to describe it better!  But well if someone wants to get better view of it, I have the whole ceremony on DVD!

So my summer break officially begun on Memorial day, Monday the 28th. For Memorial Day Megan, Bailey and I prepared patriotic outfits.. Yes, I know I looked like an idiot but whatever :D But most of  the people was wearing something patriotic so...  With our outfits on we went to see a parade that walks through downtown Geneva and Nick was playing in the marching band so we got to hear him playing too :) After the Parade we were hanging out all day because on the next day Megan had to leave to Wisconsin, where she will work as summer camp leader or something and we won't be able to see each other anymore... We had tons of fun that day but when it got close to the end we couldn't hold our tears anymore. Okay Nick could but he's a guy so he doesn't count! It was so hard to say good bye for her, because she has been one of my really best friends here and I can't imagine my life without hanging out with her BUT i'm gonna be waiting for her visit to Finland my door is always gonna be open to everyone. :)

Hmmm well these couple weeks of summer break have gone by super fast and I can't believe that the day when I need to pack the results of hours and hours of shopping to my two suitcases and say good bye to everyone, is already in 2 weeks. This year has just been a dream come true and it's so shocking that the dream is about to end and it's time to come back to the reality. It's not that I wouldn't miss my life and you guys in Finland, but now I need to say bye to all these friends and family here. And I feel like it was just couple days ago when we cried in middle of the shopping center in August 25th when I was about to come here!! I guess everything has to end, but maybe this will also be a new beginning for me. Who knows! See you in couple weeks you Finnish people and well the Americans now is the time to hang out with me :D Geneva and everyone here will be in my heart forever!!  Remember that my door is always open to everyone who wants to visit me :)

Hellooou everyone ! 

It's been a while since my last post. I've been really busy last couple months but NOW I have time :D I'm on my way to Barbados ! I'm super excited :DD We will land in 52 minutes! Pretty cool! We left our house yesterday morning at 10 and we fly to Miami and we'll spent the night there, because we have to be at the airport in Miami at 6.45.

And btw the reason why I'm doing this in english is that I want to improve my English skills even more. Here I've learned more about speaking and understanding and writing... not so much :D

Anyway I have no idea when I posted last time but I assume that it was before my birthday. So yes, I'm 18 now! Hahahah I don't feel the difference :D I didn't get ”big” benefits like drinking or driving, so life is pretty much as it was when I was 17. But maybe that’s only good thing :D The Americans can vote and take tattoos and piercings, when they turn 18, but that's pretty much it :D Oh and of course, they can buy cigarettes. So my birthday here was quite different than it would have been in Finland, BUT it wasn’t better or worse, it was just different :)

Actually my birthday celebrations got early start, when the Saturday before my actual birthday. We went to see movie, the vow, and then to a restaurant with some of my crazy foreign friends. After that we went to my house and had birthday cake and played wii :) I was super fun! And I got a lot of cool gifts! :DD In my actual birthday we had Finnish dinner at home just with my family and i got a super cute dress and gift card to best buy (=paikallinen gigantti) and some other things :) Okay I don’t want to think about it, because thinking about that day makes me want to have Finnish food :D But the following weekend I had one more birthday party. We went bowling with my crazy(and now I mean like CRAZY) American friends. But before that we had tacolaatikkoo <3 omnomnom. Okay no more Finnish food will be mentioned! And well after that Megan, Bailey and I had sleepover at my house :)) I would say that it was pretty SWELL birthday overall !

 Hmm I'm trying to think what else has happened in past two months :D Couple sleepovers andddd well then I went to Chicago couple weeks ago with Angi and we spent a night at her sisters house with our Norwegian friend Rikke. We were blessed with gorgeous weather (okay I sounded like grandma but whatever) and Saturday night we just walked around and took pictures around downtown Chicago! Sunday morning we went to a zoo with punch of other AFS students. After that we just walked back to the 'main' downtown and had lunch and of course we did some shopping too :D Overall it was nice to meet students from the northern part of our region and just hang out and talk !

And well actually couple weekends earlier I was also in Chicago with my liaison Robbin, her husband Rolland, Laura from Italy and Moeez from Pakistan. We went to a place called Garfield Park Conservatory, which was like a huge greenhouse full of flowers and plants. A lot of them were pink, so I loved it! Then we went to Chicago History Museum and see the famous Chicago Bean with a lightshow around it. And we had Pakistani food! Pretty interesting experience and I liked it a lot, but It was really spicy so my sensitive mouth didn’t like it that much :D

Hmmm just before springbreak, on the Thursday night, we went to see the Hunger games on the midnight premier with Nick, Bailey and Megan. AND with our mum’s! Well too bad that Bailey’s mum didn’t come, but otherwise our mum’s were there. The movie was soo good, but during the beginning it was pretty hard to keep my eyes open, but towards the end I didn’t have any problems at all. The next day at school was pretty bad though...

Anyways I'm on my home from barbados now :D I didn't got to finish this text on our way there, so I'm going to do it now :) Barbados was awesome! Except for couple little incidents but still overall it was just amazing. The weather was great, sunshine every day and about 30 degrees celcius :D But still little windy and cloudy so we weren't dying under the sun. And no rain at all! I went scuba diving two times, we visited in the world oldest Rum factory, we saw monkeys in a wildlife preserve, we went 170 feet underground in cave and of course a loot of lying on the pool. And well the Australian National Cricket team stayed at our hotel, so the pool was even more amusing.. ;D But well one of the incidents was that one of our family friends went swimming to the sea regardless of the red flag and hurt his eye lid pretty badly and even had a surgery. Because of that we were babysitting their three children couple first days. But the kids were super nice so that wasn’t too bad.. At least not for me :DD

The other incident was my first dive..... I got lost! That sounds pretty crazy. And it was. Omg. The dive master did not sign diving buddy's and I thought weird, but whatever I'm gonna be just fine by following one nice couple who were in the same diving group. Well then it was the time to jump out of the boat and two older men went before me and after the second man, the boat moved so that we had to move the boat back to the original location, and it took about a minute to get back.  I jumped to the water and the dive master just took air out of my BCD and waved go there. So first I saw couple bubbles coming from the previous divers, but soon I couldn’t even those bubbles anymore. I was trying to look up and down and I saw no one. I thought great. What should I do? I was trying to wait right there but soon I realized I had sunk deeper and deeper and I was almost at the bottom of the sea. At 30+ meters below the surface. About 12 minutes had gone by then. I realized that there is no way that I could find them down there so I had no other choice than getting back up. Well I was pretty much panicking and thinking how can they find me on the surface. I wasn't afraid that I couldn't make my way up, because I had my diving computer so I knew all the safety stop times and stuff. But of course I read/misunderstood the numbers. Eventually I got back to the surface 30 minutes after I got out of the boat. Luckily I saw the boat right away and they heard me screaming and they came to get me. And actually they were really scared. And the reason why I couldn't see anyone behind me when I went down was that the other woman got panic attack on her way down and they all went back up and it took a while. Mutta loppu hyvin kaikki hyvin! And the next day I went diving again and it was much better! And I saw five wrecks and it was pretty cool to go through tiny holes and get inside the wrecks! And a looot of different kinds of fishes and corals were around the wrecks :D

And well okay the incidents didn’t end there. Then on our way home, I got stuck in the passport control in Miami. I waited there like 90 minutes and NO ONE spoke english. Even the announcements were in spanish. After like 10 minutes, I realized that there is no way that I could get out of here before our flight to Chicago leaves. Well when I eventually got out of there, our flight hadn’t left yet, but the gate was closed so we couldn’t get there anymore. And of course all the hotels around the airport were full. We ended up staying at our friends hotel room’s couch and floor. Luckily dad was able to get a flight back home via Memphis on the Sunday... Overall it was awesome trip and I had wonderful time in Barbados! And at least it wasn’t so boring that I can’t even remember anything else than lying on the pool :DD Thanks Dad for earning the trip for us :))

Hahaha okay now after two weeks of writing, I’m pretty much done. Or maybe couple words about Easter and then I’m done. So first on Thursday, Bailey and I had sleepover at her house and it was SO MUCH fun! And on Friday I got to be there when Nick asked her to prom and (surprisingly) she said yess :))) And btw I don’t have a date to the prom yet and I’m pretty much freaking out about it. But yeah then later on Friday night Becca (my sister) and Dane came home and then Ina came on Saturday. The Saturday night was just fun to hanging out and eating at home but on Sunday morning we went at first to the church and during that the Easter Bunny had hidden 100 Easter egg’s around our garden and we had to find them. Well sounds like something that five-year-old kids would like but I loved it too :DD It was so must fun :D And after that we got our Easter baskets and then we had brunch with Grammy and Grandpa. It was different kind of easter than in Finland, but be ready, next year you will have little bit more American Easter in Finland!

Aika kuluu niiiin nopeeseen tahtiin etten tänne ehdi oikeen paivittelemäänkään! Nooh jokatapaukses paaaaljon taas tapahtunu nii hyvassa ku pahassakin sitte viime päivityksen.
 
Hmmmmm niin joululoman jälkeen olin huolissani siitä mun koeviikosta... Noh se nyt oli lahinnä joku vitsi saakeli :D Mun huonoin arvosana oli B+. Asteikko on siis A,B,C,D,F ja joka arvosanaan plussat ja miinukset päälle. Ja btw se B+ oli matikka. Oon vihanen. Nooh jätin matikan opiskelut tääl sit sikseen. Täl lukukaudel mun on ekonomiaa, valokuvaust, puhekurssii, kansainvälist liiketoimintaa(? :D), luonnonkatastrofei, ranskaa ja liikuntaa. Kuullostaapa tyhmilt sanoilt suomeks. Anyways tykkään iha mun lukujärjestyksest. Ja paras on se et mul o sama lounas Nickin, Meganin, Tommyn ja Taylorin kans:) Meil on hyvin... hmmm... antoiset puheenaiheet voisin sanoo :D

Täsä Nick vähä kokkailees jäätävän kokost keksii :D Oli hyvääääää!  En tosin muist millo tää o otettu mut joskus joulun jälkee :DD

 Muuten sit koulun lisäks on menny viikonloput ihan jäätävää vauhtii. Ekaks heti loman jälkee oli AFS:an midyear orientaatioleiri. Puoliväli on siis ylitetty! Mut joo leiril (yllättäen) oli iha superhauskaa, vaik siel ei ollukkaa ku nää etelä-illinoisin oppilaat (ei ranskalaisii, japanilaisii eika bolivialaisii ;D). Ei siel pahemmi mitää opittu mut sai ainaki kuulla et mite muil menee ja niiiiin! Ja muuten pääsin rullaluistelemaan semmosel sisäradal niinku aina televisios ! :D Noh itseasias se oli aika hito tylsää, mut seura paikkas tilannet aika mukavasti :DD

Talent showssa esitin suomeks runon Muusa ja Ruusa. Voin laittaa sen loppuu ;D

Hmmm niii sitte tuli se seuraava viikonloppu, joka alko huonosti ja siitähän ei ollu sit ku suunta alaspäin. Ensinnaki oli kauhee lumimyrsky, jonka takii ei päästy edes lähtemää semmosel mun kirkon leiril sinä päivän ku piti. Sitte vähän meinasin ihmetella et kui ihmees äiti soittaa suomen aikaa vähä enne viittä aamulla. Noh eihän sihen mitään kauheen syytä sitte ollukkaan. Mummo sitten oli nukkunu poies. Kyl siin sit tuli muutama tovi mietittyy että noniinoniin joko taas. Olinhan mä ihan hautajaisiinki tulossa, mut lopultas sitte päädyin et en lähe matkustelemaan sitä 20-30 tuntii sinne ja takasin, vaikka mieli tekikin ku olisin viel sillon ollu mun syntymäpäiväni suomessa! Partyparty mut ei. Mä ehin sit kesäl juhlimaan! Noh kuiteski lopultas sit lauantain aamul pääsin sinne leirillekki lähtemaan mukavasti puol kuus aamulla. Hehheh. Se oli ihan jeeeees. Mut kyl mä enemmä mun kirkostani suomes tykkään. Noi on vähä liian uskovaisii mun makuuni :D Ja ainii pääsin sillo launtain semmosee jättimäisee kylpylää! Ja sunnuntain pelattii jotai hmm harjapalloo :D Se oli vähä niinku jääkiekkoo mut harjat mailat :D Ja olin muute aiva hito hyvä siin! :D Olin mun joukkueeni ainoo ketä teki maali! :D  

 Sitte seuraavan viikonloppun oli vuoro viettää aikaa Angin ja Javieran kans :) Mentii lauantain yhtee ostoskeskuksee shoppailee ja mukaan tarttus taas vaikka ja tiesmita ! Voi matkalaukku parat ku pitää takasin tulla... Shoppailun jälkee värjäiltii Angin kans hiuksiii ja jäin sinne sit yöksi. Katottiiin muuten leffa nimeltä the notebook (ja pienen tutkimustyön jälkeen löysin et se o suomeks the notebook - rakkauden sivut) jos ette oo sitä nähny, kattokaa <3 Varsinki Milluskaa! Ja ainiii sit sunnuntain megan tuli kylää ja opetin sita kutomaa.. :DDD Oivoivoivoi. Noh itseasias se oli iha kohtuullinen kutoja :D Nyt se haluu oppii neljäl puikol .......
 
Mennäkseni läpi kaikki viikonloput ni viime viikonloppuna oli sit AFS:an laskettelumatkaleiri systeemi:D Ei terve, voin kertoo et nyt joka ainoo osa mun kehossani sattus sen jäleen. Tuli sit lautailtuu noin 10 tuntii ja jooo voisin sanoo et alan olemaan iha kohtuullinen lautailija! Ainaki omast mielestani. Enka ees murtanu mitää täl kertaa! Polvet tosin on aivan mustat, mut se on ohi menevää :D Oli kyl aika hauskaa nauraa niil ketä oli ekaa kertaa laskettelemas/lautailemas :DD Noh en varmaa sais nauraa, pitäis ennemminki miettii niit aikoi ku ite kynsin rinteit 
alas.

Hehheh aattelin et se lautailutunti vois olla hyväks ;D Tosin totesin heti alkuun et se oli aika hito tylsää :D

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)

Noniiiin nytte sitte on joulut juhlittu ja vuosi vaihdettu! Vois kai sitä sanoo et oli jo aikaki siirtyy seuraaval vuodel sen verran tapahtumarikas ja raskas vuosi oli kyl taas! Mut mä nyt oon semmonen draamamagneetti et ei tää varmaa täst miksikää muutu mut ei se mitään! Hehheh ette muuten saanu sitä joulukoristepäivityst :D Otin ne kuvat kyllä mut sit sain palautet et mun blogini aukee vähä hitaasti muutenki et ei kannata pistää viittäkymment kuvaa:D Mutta joulutunnelmiin!

 Jouluu edeltävä viikko meni kiireisis tunnelmissa taas vaihteeks! Sen jälkee oonki sit saanu nukkuu pitkää ja löhöillä koko päivän pyjama pääl. Aaaah sitä oon kaivannukki :D Mut joo ennen jouluu tuli käytyy shoppailemassa joululahjoja Javin kanssa ja kattelemassa jouluvaloja, jotka ei ollu niinku suomes et yhdes puussa pari valoo vaan oli mm. talo joka oli ympäröity valoil ja sen lisäks koko piha täynnä mitä erilaisempia otuksii ja kaiken lisäks ne vilkkus radiokanavan musiikin tahtii.. HEHHEH.  Hmmm sitte vähä juhlistettii Meganin, Jeremiahin, Nickin ja Baileyn kanssa ja mitäs muuta noh sitte käytii Javin ja Charlenen kans joulukahveil ja sen sellasta.

Jouluaaton aattona sitte kaikki siskot tuli kotiin :) Noh olihan se kiva nähdä kaikki taas mut pakko sanoo et ootin Inaa eniten ! Mut jooo siinä sitte ooteltiin et joulunvietto alkais... Tääl sen odottamine oli kyl oikee erityisen pitkä saakeli ku vast neljält aattoiltapäiväl mentii (yllättäen) kirkkoo ! Tosin sitä enne oli vähä draamaaki ku Claire heräs yöllä kauheesee vatsakipuu eikä se saanu henkee ollenkaa ni mum ja dad lähti sen kans sit sairaalaa sillo yöl. Mut joo kaikki oli sit hyvi kummiski :D Kirkon jälkee mentii sit dadin siskon luo misä oli kaikki sen 5 sisarust ja niitte miljoona lasta eli siis mun serkut ja joo en muista ku yhden nimen et niin :D Siellä sitte syötiin ei niin jouluista ruokaa ja katottiin ku lapset riehus ja aikuiset keskusteli :D

Meiän joulukaupunki

Joulupäivän aamun sitte herättii puol kahdeksalt ja "lapset" meni rappusten yläpäähä ku mum otti kuvii rappusten alapääst :D Hehheh kuulemma perinne :D Yön aikan Joulupukki oli käyny, mut sen lisäks oli perheelt saadut lahjat erikseen :D Joulupukin lahjoi avates meniki sit pari tuntii, minkä jälkee vaihdettii vaatteet päälle ja syötiin Mikkihiiri vohveleit sen jälkee sit avattiin ne perheenjäsenten antamat lahjat :D Sain kaikenlaista mm. pinkit kuoret mun macbookiini, coachin laukun <3, pari pipoo, angry birds keittokirjan ja noh muuta roinaa :D Sitte myöhemmi Grammy ja Grandpa tuli kylää ja syötiin "jouluateria" joka oli aikaperus lihaa ja perunamuusii :D Nooh siin se päivä sit meniki, löhötes ja mitää Tapanin päivää tääl ei juhlitakkaa vaa sillo menin totta kai shoppailemaa Inan kans.

Muuten välipäivin sit noh olin lumilautailemas meiä koulun alpine clubin kans :D Aikamoist kyntämist oli näin 10kk tauon jälkee mut kyl se siit loppuu kohden alko sujuu :D Kävi kyl Javii sääliks ku raukka näki ensimmäist kertaa lunta kunnol maas ja sit heti pistettii lumilauta jalkoje alle :D Ja jooo olis sen kyl kannattanu ekaks iha lasketella suksil .. :D 

Sitte seuraavana aamuna mum tuliki herättämää mut 8.40 et haluuks lähtee puolen tunnin pääst Chicagoon Javin mumin kans :D Meiän oli siis tarkotus mennä sinne alunperinki sillon mut tulipahan taas vähän mutkii ja draamaa vastaan ni eipä sitte mentykkään sillä porukalla. Jokatapaukses sit mentii kattelee sinne Chicagoo vähä korkeemmalt katsottuna ja totta kai sit piti käydä sitä peilipapuaki kattomas noin kymmenet kertaa :D Ja aivan täl kertaa nähtii Marilyn patsas kans ja sitte iltapäivästä nähtiin sit vähä muitaki vaihtareit ja sit lähettiinki jo kotiin. Illalla sain mukavan yllätyksen ku Nick soitti et he on tulos hakemaa mua ja olin iha kujal et mihi kunnes hän valaisi et Snowballiin tottakai :D Siel seikkailen siis edellee joka viikko :D

Vuoden vaihtumista juhlin sitte kolmatta kertaa peräkkäin muilla mailla :D Tänä vuon on tosin eka vuosi ikin ku en nähny ilotulitust ollenkaan! Tai siis ei tääl missää mitää rakettei nähny myynnis eikä niit kyl ketää oikee  ampunukkaa ?!? Chicagos tietty oli ollu joku iso ilotulitus mut en kyl ees kysyny et voisinks mennä sinne :D Mut juu hengailtiin sitte Javilla parin muun vaihtarin kanssa ja pelailtiin ja juteltiin. Oli iha mukava perustyttöjenilta :DD Tosin must tuntuu et täs ollaa menty pari vuotta taaksepäi, koska sillo just tehtii tätä :DD Mut ei siin se o hyvi mukavaa!
